BA/BS in Geography with Transcripted Concentration in GIS & RS

In addition to core courses required of all Bachelor’s degree seeking students in the department, students must complete a minimum of 15 credit hours in the GIS &RS concentration, including at least 12 credit hours at the 300-400 level, selected from the following:

  1. GEOG G336 Environmental Remote Sensing and G338 Geographic Information Science
  2. At least 9 credit hours selected from among the following Geography courses:

    • GEOG G237 Mapping Our World
    • GEOG G250 Computing in the Geospatial Sciences
    • GEOG G306 Current Issues in Globalization, Development and Justice (approved topics only)
    • GEOG G436 Advanced Remote Sensing: Digital Image Processing
    • GEOG G438 Advanced Geographic Information Science
    • GEOG G439 GIS & Environmental Analysis
    • GEOG G488 Applied Spatial Statistics
    • GEOG G489 Advanced Geospatial Data Analysis
    • GEOG X 473 Internship in Geographic Analysis (with approval of the Director of Undergraduate Studies)
    • GEOG X 490 Undergraduate Readings and Research in Geography (with approval of the Director of Undergraduate Studies)
    • Up to one (1) additional course from the Geographic Methods course list
  3. A minimum of 9 credit hours must be completed on the Bloomington campus.
