Congratulations to Graduate students who have received fellowships
Hui Wang has received a East Asia and Pacific Summer Institutes (EAPSI) fellowship from the National Science Foundation. The EAPSI provides support for U.S. graduate students in science and engineering. Hui Wang will be spending his fellowship visiting and collaborating with wind energy specialists in S. Korea and China on the mechanisms responsible for extreme loading on offshore wind turbines.
Rebecca Clouser and Jill Rickly-Boyd received College of Arts and Sciences Dissertation Year Research Fellowships for 2011-2012. Rebecca joined the Department in 2007 after time in the Peace Corps and as Assistant Director, Institute for Study Abroad at Butler University. Her provisional PhD dissertation title is “Interrelations between Fear and Development Work in Guatemala: A Multi-Perspective Analysis’. Jill undertook both her Undergraduate and Masters degree at IU. Her provisional PhD dissertation title is ‘Dirtbags of Appalachia: An Ethnography of the Rock Climbing Community of Eastern Kentucky’.
