Our undergraduate students are strongly encouraged to seek relevant internship experiences. You can sign up for up to 6 credit hours of internship credit through the Geography department. We will assist with internship placement provided that the internship is related to your growth as a professional in the field.
We recommend that internships be taken at the end of your junior year, and summer can be a particularly good time for internships. Internships can also be done in your senior year, and are occasionally approved for sophomores.
Internships can involve work or research within the department, be positions in the community, or involve placements with agencies or organizations in other parts of the country—or even the globe.
