Dr. Elizabeth Cullen Dunn is the Founding Director of the new Center for Refugee Studies at IU Bloomington. Dr. Dunn's has spent fourteen years studying refugee support networks and humanitarian response, first in the Republic of Georgia. Her recent work highlights the role of self-organized volunteer networks, rather than traditional humanitarian aid, in supporting refugees fleeing the war in Ukraine. Dr. Dunn has done extensive work on the ground supporting refugees fleeing into Poland over the last year and is the Executive Director of the Bloomington Refugee Support Network. She is looking forward to bringing her practical and academic expertise to the new Center for Refugee Studies.
