Dr. Mike Dwyer is launching his new book Upland Geopolitics: Postwar Laos and the Global Land Rush April 5th with a panel discussion featuring Dr. Padraic Kenney, Dr. Eduardo Brondizio, and Dr. Jessica Steinberg at the Tobias Center for International Development.

The book takes a deep dive into the politics of the global land grab through the Chinese investment in plantations turning upland forests and fields to rubber, and the cold war legacies that decide who wins and who loses from such transformations in Northern Laos.
